Australian Chamber Orchestra Collective - Schools' Concert

Australian Chamber Orchestra Collective - Schools' Concert

The Australian Chamber Orchestra presents a soulful concert of Mozart & Brahms. Britain’s leading clarinetist, Matthew Hunt, joins "probably the most engaging maverick in classical music today" (The Times), Pekka Kuusisto, and ACO Collective as the soloist for Brahms’ passionate Clarinet Quintet.

2017 marks the 10th anniversary of ACO Collective, an ensemble that combines musicians of the ACO with Australia’s most talented young professional musicians at the outset of their careers, creating an ensemble with a fresh, energetic performance style.

Our fun and interactive concerts for secondary students provide them with tools to understand and appreciate music. Specially created for schools, these vibrant performances introduce students to musical concepts by inviting them to explore and discover their own responses to the music.

To complement these performances, the ACO offers curriculum aligned resources including worksheets to be completed in class, and videos of the musicians discussing the music and specific listening points for students to focus on.

ACO Collective Schools’ Concerts are 1 hour in duration.

"The students and I were delightfully surprised to enjoy, if not get lost in, classical music. Great for students to hear both classical and 21st century music and see extended techniques on each instrument." - Frances Evans, Teacher, Dubbo

"I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it is that this world-class group manages to visit regional areas like ours, as we never get to hear such top class playing as this...We can vouch for full support of such concerts in the future, the good it is doing (for students) cannot be measured simply in ticket sales." - Kate Telchadder, Director of Music, Georgiana Molloy Anglican School.
