Buckle up and take the whole family on a fun-filled adventure day at the MECC!

Be welcomed through the doors by Australia’s Prince of Circus and Physical Comedy, Dandyman, and immerse yourself into the wonderful world of performing arts.

Take a trip in a giant time machine and travel back to the era of dinosaurs. Sit back and relax, enjoy a snack box and a movie - Rumpelstiltskin filmed live on stage! Let your creativity run wild and make your own marvellous, glowing puppets. Or let Guru Dudu take you on a silent disco tour through the secret corners of the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, and dance like no one is watching.

Kids' Day at the MECC is not just one show, it’s hours of fun & adventure!

Please note > Children under the age of 12 months at the time of the event are admitted free of charge.

Buckle up and take a trip in a giant time machine to get up close and personal with a life-sized T-Rex!Dinosaur Time Machine

Dinosaur Time Machine incorporates up to date science and discoveries about dinosaurs and the world they lived in. Presented in a fun and highly visual way, incorporating circus, puppetry, simple narrative and imaginative play, this unique educational theatre production is aimed at children aged 3-9.

Dinosaur Time Machine was awarded Adelaide Advertisers ‘Best Children’s Show’ of the Adelaide Fringe 2016.

Australia’s finest and funniest physical comedian Daniel Oldaker will present his circus comedy family show.Dandyman

"For the Love" is an unexpected experience filled with moments of fun and spontaneity that will fill everyone’s hearts.

Dandyman will create circus-inspired magical moments of mayhem, complete with goofy games, fun competitions, prizes, funny facts and very funny faces.

It’s all for the love of it and it’s for everyone: young and old.

This is the story of the ultimate price of greed, two people, once best friends, torn apart by desire for the things they cannot have.

Guru Dudu takes the Silent Disco phenomenon to a whole new level.Guru Dudu

Wear our disco headphones and enjoy uplifting dance songs from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s while enjoying a unique tour of all things behind-the-scenes at the MECC!

It’s all about:

  • spontaneous Flash Mob dancing
  • interpretative dancing
  • hilarious commentary
  • and lots of crazy impro that is guaranteed to open the ‘laughter meridians’
