The centre is equipped with the latest audio visual technology and world-standard acoustic systems.

To assist with the successful delivery of presentations, all rooms are fitted with a wireless network system to provide advanced and reliable services.

Web broadcasting is available, allowing audio, data and video conferencing services to be streamed across the internet and delivered to viewers in HD quality.

Our dedicated team of technical experts can assist you with all of your requirements from resetting your room, installing and operating your audio and lighting equipment through to rigging your theming.

> Catering

Our professional team prides themselves in delivering a high quality selection of menus inspired by local and regional produce.

Fresh quality produce combined with exquisite presentation and outstanding service provides a winning recipe for your event.

Seasonal menus are created to showcase fresh local and regional produce and are available as standard, deluxe or premium package selections.

Catering to special dietary requirements on application, our caterers can prepare food for persons with special requirements and are careful to label food at buffets, managing risks of possible allergic reactions.

> Bar facilities

MECC static and mobile bar facilities are available to suit your function or event requirements. The main bar is ideally located off the central foyer, selling a wide range of beverages to suit all tastes. Coffee and non-alcoholic refreshments are also available. The main bar is open one hour prior to performances and at performance intervals. A bar tab can be arranged prior to your function or event upon request.

> Foyer facilities

This facility wraps around two (2) sides of the central main rooms allowing ample space for:

  • Conference registration
  • Delegate refreshments
  • Trade shows and exhibitions

> Internet facilities

The MECC has high speed Wi-Fi available for delegates, performers and hirers of the venue. High-speed NBN lines are also available.

> Ticketing service

The MECC has a ticketing service which can support you with all of your ticketing requirements for on-site or off-site events.

The centre offers a convenient cost effective and efficient ticketing service to many touring companies, community theatres and groups. For a small booking fee, the centre can take the hassle out of selling tickets to your event or function. The centre currently owns a database of over 23,000 patrons that can be utilised for marketing purposes.

The MECC accepts Visa and Mastercard credit cards online. The MECC accepts cash, and Visa and Mastercard credit cards over the box office counter.

CONCESSION:- Blue pension concession card
- Government seniors card
- All Students, if no Student price available

- Age is stated per show

CHILD ON THE KNEE:
- Child U2 free on the knee, unless specified.

> Front of house facilities

For every function and event at the MECC, dedicated, qualified and experienced Front of House staff will be available for any request you may have. Their duty is to ensure that your time with us is pleasant and relaxed. If you have any queries while you are at the centre simply direct them to the Front of House staff who are only too happy to help.

> Back of house facilities

The centre can accommodate the following facilities in rooms surrounding the main auditorium and plenary halls.

  • Experimental Theatre
  • Private Dressing Rooms
  • Green Room

> Accessible facilities

MECC has wheelchair access via all entrances to main areas by means of a ramp. Priority seating is also available for disabled patrons. Contact the MECC Box Office for more information on disabled seating. We also have specifically designed lift to assist delegates to a stage for conferencing where required.
Toilet facilities for mobility challenged persons are also located in each of the main areas of the building as well as changing/feeding rooms for folk with infants.

> Hearing Devices

Hearing Receivers are available in the Auditorium and a Hearing Loop is available in the Plenary Halls, please contact the Box Office on 4961 9777 for more information.

> Toilets

Toilets can be located inside the centre off the northern, central and southern foyers. Please refer to directional signage located throughout the building for further location details. Additional public toilets are also located inside Artspace Mackay.

> Lost Property

Do you think you have left something behind at an event at the MECC? Just call our friendly Box Office team during office hours on 4961 9777 or email mecctickets@mackay.qld.gov.au and our staff will check our lost property to see if your missing item is here.

If your item has been found, you will need to collect it within two weeks of the event date. After this date items will be donated/ disposed after a month if not collected.

Only hygienic items that are of value will be kept (i.e. no water bottles etc.).

> Convention precinct

The Convention Precinct encompasses a range of multi-use facilities and spaces including the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, Artspace Mackay (Mackay's award-winning Regional Art Gallery), the Town Hall (City Centre Art Deco heritage building) and the Civic Lawn.

All venues and spaces are available for hire on a per space basis or as a collective multi-purpose arrangement (subject to availability).
