The MECC is currently operating at 100% capacity under the Queensland Live Performance, Venues/Theatres - Approved COVIDSafe Industry Plan. approved by Queensland Health.

For contact tracing purposes we are using the Check In Qld app and encourage you to download the app prior to attending performances at MECC if you haven’t done so already. We recommend adding your details and those of your guests before arriving at MECC. You can add extra guest details through the ‘Frequent Guests’ section accessed by the menu at the top left corner of the app. When you arrive at MECC, all you’ll be required to do is scan the QR code and show our staff you’ve checked in.

The wellbeing of all visitors, artists and staff is our priority.

COVIDSafe Ticketing Terms and Conditions

IMPORTANT: Please read the COVIDSafe ticketing terms and conditions here, which are in addition to our standard terms and conditions, prior to purchasing your tickets.

If any of the following apply to you or any member of your booking party, you or they must not come to The MECC:

  • Required to self-isolate under laws aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19
  • Diagnosed as having COVID-19
  • You have experienced symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss of taste or smell in the last 14 days
  • You or a member of your household has been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
  • You or a member or your household has been in close contact with anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms
  • You or a member of your household has travelled overseas in the past 14 days
  • You or a member of your household has travelled to a COVID-19 hotspot in Australia in the past 14 days

If these apply to you or any member of your booking party, please contact MECC Box Office to arrange a refund for that ticket. You can contact MECC Box Office on 49619777 Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm. 90 minutes prior to show start time. Refunds will not apply if the ticket holder attends the venue, displays these symptoms, and is asked to leave.

Book online

We encourage purchasing your tickets online or via phone wherever possible. Paper tickets will not be printed at any time. Tickets will be issued in a digital, PDF format and will be sent by email to the ticket purchaser, not to each individual.

To alleviate crowding, we now have allocated entrances to the venue, as well as door numbers. Please check your ticket carefully for your allocated entrance and door number. See the map below to get familiar with new names for our entries and spaces or open it here.

We’re open earlier

Doors to the foyer spaces will now open 90 minutes prior to the event to allow for staggered ingress.

Physical distancing

  • In line with Queensland Health advice, MECC is operating at 100% capacity. This means there may be patrons occupying the seats directly beside, behind or in front of you during a performance.
  • Foyer seating arranged to ensure 1.5m distancing
  • Decreased capacities in foyers, allowing 1.5m distancing
  • Separate entry and exit points, in foyers and venues
  • Allocated entrances to the venue, as well as door numbers. Please check your ticket carefully for your allocated entrance and door number.
  • Physical distancing markers at queuing areas such as Food and Beverage outlets and Box Office
  • Staff monitoring traffic flow and distancing

Contactless payment only

No cash will be accepted at the box office or at the MECC café/bar.

Have your ticket ready

Have your ticket ready on your phone or print at home ticket ready for scanning.

Things we need you to do

  • It is a condition of entry to The MECC that all patrons provide contact tracing details. To save time, download the Check In Qld app prior to your next visit and add your details as well as those of your guests. On arrival, you can scan our unique QR code upon entry. You will then need to show MECC staff your completed check in on entry
  • Observe physical distancing where possible in the foyers and public areas of the venue
  • MECC is operating at 100% capacity.
  • If you’re unwell, stay home and contact our MECC Box Office Team 0749619777 to arrange a refund if you cannot attend because you’re unwell.

Enhanced cleaning

We have a systematic cleaning and disinfection schedule, including a fogging machine which sanitises seating. We are a certified COVID Clean practising business.

Additional bars = easy purchasing

Two additional bars will be open for your convenience. These bars are located on the mezzanine levels at Door 2 and Door 4.

Enjoy a bite at the show

Individual platters and kids’ meals* are still available to pre-order and collect at the event. A selection of food items will be available to purchase from the MECC café, which can be consumed in designated areas, including at your assigned seat in the Auditorium. *Selected shows only.

We encourage downloading the COVIDSafe app today to keep yourself and your community safe. Available on the App store or Google Play.
