Friends of the MECC - Jazz Brunch


The MECC is operating in accordance with the Restrictions on Business, Activities and Undertakings Direction.

For contact tracing purposes the MECC requires individual ticket holder information including first and last name, contact number, email or residential address. We are also using the Check In Qld app and encourage all patrons to download the app and fill in their details and those of their guests prior to visiting The MECC.

Swing into the MECC North Foyer for an indulgent brunch affair and a carnival of luscious jazz sounds to wrap up the final day of the Festival.

Doors open 10.30am

When romance collides with cabaret and swing attempts to seduce you once again, you know you’ve found The Lounge Suite! At the helm is Dale Pengelly, supported by his Loungin’ Ladies, you’ll be hard pressed to resist singing and dancing your way through the swing era hits with this sensational trio.

A high-energy celebration of dance and song, The Lounge Suite beckons you to peek behind, through its curtains. Swoon and sway to timeless tunes from The Rat Pack and Nat King Cole alongside classics from musical theatre favourites such as Singin’ in the Rain, The Boy from Oz, Chicago and Hot Shoe Shuffle.

Ticket includes brunch + tea, coffee and welcome drink. Additional beverages available for purchase.

Food station menu:

  • Petite bacon and egg tarts
  • Salmon blini with herbed cream cheese, fried capers and dill
  • Croissants filled with champagne ham and cheese
  • Parmesan scrambled eggs and Mexican salsa mini burritos (Vegetarian)
  • Fresh fruit skewers (Gluten and Dairy Free/Vegetarian)
  • Assorted mini Danish pastries.

Wheelchair Access
Wheelchair seats/spaces are available for all events. These seats/spaces can be booked by contacting our Box Office on (07) 4961 9777.
All levels of the MECC carpark are fully wheelchair accessible.

Hearing Receivers are available in the Auditorium and a Hearing Loop is available in the Plenary Halls. To access this equipment simply enquire at the Box Office prior to event. Please contact the Box Office (07) 4961 9777 or visit us in person for more information.

Companion Cards
Companion Card holders are entitled to a complimentary companion ticket to all performances. The cardholder must provide their Companion Card details when making bookings and present the valid ID card to receive their ticket/s from the Box Office.
