Toni Childs To Honour Our Frontline Heroes

Military veterans and first responders will be honoured by international singer Toni Childs at a one-off concert in Mackay.

ReNew Mackay is presenting Toni Childs - One For Our Heroes, performing at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre on Sunday, May 2.

With fans all over the world, the Emmy winner and three-time Grammy nominated singer, has produced international hits such as ‘I’ve Got To Go Now’; ‘Don’t Walk Away’ and ‘Many Rivers to Cross’.

Founded by local businesspeople in 2019, ReNew Mackay is a construction and development project that will transform Mackay’s Waterfront and CBD into a vibrant community with layers of residential living and outdoor activities that are also designed to keystone the region as a tourism generator.

Also emerging from this amalgamation is PTSD Frontline, a new organisation established to improve recognition and care for veterans and first responders who face difficulties adjusting back to civilian life.

ReNew Mackay, along with PTSD Frontline are behind establishing a social and welfare centre in the Mackay CBD as well as a health retreat at Kinchant Dam for war veterans and emergency service workers.

Mayor Greg Williamson commended ReNew Mackay for their work in support of our veteran and first responder communities.

“Our veterans and first responders are on the front line in some of the most high-stress and dangerous environments imaginable,” Mayor Williamson said.

“Their service often comes with a lasting price that they pay on a daily basis, and we should be doing everything we can to support our community,” he said.

“I’d encourage everyone to grab a ticket, come along and add their voice to this tremendous campaign.”

Childs will perform her fan favourites as well as tracks from her upcoming album at the MECC as her gift to both first responders and veterans.

We are celebrating this long-awaited collaboration, presented by ReNew Mackay, and we are thanking all our heroes for their service and sacrifice.
